First try on Sunken Treasure Ebook Cover

Questions, concerns?
Demands for me to update faster?

This is not the final cover; just something I threw together trying to get over writer's block again.

  1. I think the cover is great. You did a great job especially when you consider you didn't have any actual Chuck and Sarah diving photos to work with nor any swimsuit photos on a boat or at the water.

  2. Good job. I do think that the title needs to be in a bigger size and don't forget an author credit!

  3. On the subject of swimsuits:

I considered using a screencap of Sarah popping out of the pool in the bikini from the S3 premiere, but it seemed far too exploitative given the title of the story.

Using any kind of bikini picture for the cover felt like I was equating Sarah to the 'treasure' and objectifying her to a degree I'm uncomfortable with.

Further it just robbed Sarah of agency, which was the farthest thing from my intention, so I went with the ol' tried and true 'gun in the camera' pose for both leads.

  4. I would take that to the next step...use all of those pictures and incorporate them into a treasure map, add some binary to the map in an appropriate calligraphy font to mix the old-fashioned they're dealing with and the nature of the equipment Chuck is using to find the laptop. Same font for the title, embedded somewhere on the map, and the pictures of Chuck and Sarah turned into polaroids tacked to the map. :). But I like the concept you've got going on here!

  6. Frea: wow, that sounds awesome, just...
far beyond my skills. Now if you were just going to appear like magic with a version you had done...
Well, that would be epic, but I'm not going to impose on you by asking straight out.
